about

In Australia we have a program called Indigenous Leadership. I attended one of these for Woman in North Queensland. Beautiful woman from all across Cape York, North Queensland, Torres Strait Islands attended.

Over a week we shared stories of how it is to be a woman living in your community and the broader community. We spoke of integrity to culture, integrity to our own personal inner being and our place in the world as a representative and leader..

For me, the week was deeply stirring, I felt the power within each woman and I sensed their landscape through their spirits....

with such a sensory overload, I picked up my guitar and intentionally wrote a song to move the energy through.....

I asked some of the woman for words in their language that they use for " Woman" or "Sister"

So woven into the song, you will hear these words..............

The song was recorded in my favorite Rain forest Shack, with the sound of the cicadas supporting in the background.....

I have to say, I appreciate the voice that was evoked within me in the creating of this song........ Being among woman of the land for me, is so powerfully enriching and deeply stirring x
